After the rams first measurement shearing in March we select 20-30 rams to put shearing tags in, from these we select our multivendor sale team for the Glenelg Regional Merino Field Day.
2025 Glenelg Regional Merino FIeld Day Sale Team

Our experience is that a visually good looking ram will breed some good looking ok performing sheep.
A high ASBV poor visual will breed high performing sheep on data, but leave visual trait problems that we may be able to live with as a commercial breeder depending on the severity.
A poor visual, poor ASBV will… It’s a cull! Under these circumstances they will not perform.
A high ASBV and high visual sheep will guarantee the best results and will be considered for stud purposes.
All sheep are paddock run 100% of the time till the yearling stage, they remain in the paddock from here on except for a selected group of 20-30 show/multivendor sale rams. Rams on offer will come from the top 30% of the drop remaining after 12-18 months of measurement and grading.
